Alfia's recording of Cello Suites at St Boniface Kirk, Papay, is a
great contribution to establishing Orkney as a Classical Music Centre

IVANOV + CHAN and composer JAMES HESFORD
completed the 7th work of a series of an international site-specific
collaboration created during a 24hour non stop period
@ MASTERCLASS of MUSIC CITERNA FESTIVAL in Italy
New work by composer JAMES HESFORD, “Papey Holm”, was
performed by the choir Fiori Musicali in the reviving ancient language
- Orkney Norn, which was not spoken for the last 200 years.
Text is a chart for wind and sea - used to describe what happens when
the wind blows.... One is related to land the other the sea...
We'd like to bring this work home performed at Papay Holm, Ring of
Brodgar and St. Magnus Cathedral by 100 strong choir of Orkney singers
and violin line performed by leading local fiddlers... read
